Planning, management and consulting (plan)

This career group comprises careers involving planning, management and advisory activities.
Professionals in this group are not directly involved in the development or operation of ICT systems, but they lay the foundations for the development of ICT systems, prepare for their development and operation, or support these activities. In terms of time, these activities may take place not only before, but also during and after the commissioning of ICT systems.

Design, engineering, provision and implementation (build)

Professionals in this career group are engaged in activities such as design, engineering, deployment and implementation of ICT systems. They then hand over the systems to professionals from the career group: Operation, administration and support

Operation, administration and support (run)

Professionals in this career group are concerned with the operation of ICT systems and the users of such systems.
As a rule, employees with such careers perform customer service-oriented activities. In order to solve problems, they must have the knowledge to be able to tackle and solve the problem in a targeted manner.

Project management (PM)

Persons with careers in the “Project management” career group are exclusively or mainly involved in project work.
Note: Project management tasks are very often also carried out by people with careers in other career groups.

Organization (ORG)

Persons with careers in the career group “Organization” deal with structural and procedural organization, process design, process management, IT and material use as well as defining career descriptions (job descriptions).

Methodology-related careers (agile)

Persons with careers in the “Methodology-related careers” career group develop products quickly and cost-effectively in accordance with a formulated vision.

Application computer science (ACS)

Persons with careers in the“Application informatics” career group are concerned with the application of computer methods in fields other than computer science. For example, they develop graphics, simulations or user interfaces with specialist, technical and design knowledge. The use of specific IT tools, such as CAD systems, desktop publishing solutions, project management tools and the like are an important basis here.
